One weekend day I was a the mall looking through the stores with my brother and mom. I forgot what we were looking for but when we were leaving my mom suggested we go look at the pet store. My brother had been wanting a Beagle for awhile. We looked at all the dogs in the cages at the back of the store and there was a Beagle. My mom asked the employee there if we could see her. As the employee brought the puppey out I noticed that the cage all ready had a sold sine on it and I told my mom it was already soId. I still didn’t get it. My brother and I were playing with the Beagle in the petting cage when my mom asked if we would like to keep her. It finally hit me, my parents had already bought the dog and thay wanted it to be a supprise! I sayed thank you and hugged my mom. Then we bought her some food and toys and went home.

I carry my cell phone with me inconsistantly out of school. I text and call people sometimes but I dont communicate over the internet. When I learn how to do new things I like to read about it first. Then I like to try it out for alittle while and then, read about it some more. When I was younger I used a computer sometimes and my homephone. My parents know how to use technology to get by but thay call someone or go to a store to get help if thay need it. Being good at technology in the future will be vary helpfull to get ahead in the world. Among my friends I am a late adopter of technology. I have a cell phone and my family has two laptops. I also have a Xbox 360.

The recession has not affected me directly that much. My parents are vary good at managing money so my family has not had vary many problems compared to other people. I thank that unless Obama does something vary different that we have been doing to fix the economy, it might get alittle worse and then take a long time to heal. I think people need to stop spending thousands of dollars more than thay can afford each month on there credit cards. And the banks should only lone money to people with high credit scores. One story i heard on the news is about a man that bought everyones gas at a gas station for one day. Thay was a really nice thing to do. I think Obamas energy plan is a vary good idea because it would cost money to start up but later it would be a much cheaper way to generate energy. The computer medical recordes would make things alot easer.

One cool spring day, I was at church surrounded by people.  This was no ordinary church service though; it was a funeral, my grandmother’s funeral.  I walked up to her open casket with my family and saw her for the last time.  As I gazed upon her pale, lifeless face I remembered how this had all started.
My mom came into my room one early morning and told me that my grandmother had suffered a stroke.  I was surprised because no one in my family had anything serious happen to them before. My grandma had slowed down in the past few years so she had started to use a walker, but I did not have any idea this was about to happen.  I went through my day thinking about it every once in awhile, but I did not think it would be very bad.
After school my mom picked me up and we went to the hospital to see grandma.  We walked in the door past all the people waiting to be treated and asked the receptionist what room my grandmother was in.  We went up the elevator and found ourselves in a large circular room with many smaller rooms branching off from it. There was an information desk in the center of the room.  Many doctors and nurses were walking from room to room and behind the counter.
My mom, brother, and I walked to the room that the receptionist said my grandma was in. There we saw my grandmother in a bed and my dad sitting beside her in a chair. It was strange seeing her there like that when she was fine the day before. She could not move her arm or leg on one side of her body and could barely move her other side.  She tried to speak, but no one could understand what she was saying.  I will never forget that day.
